Multiple Parts

Multiple parts using the one-bar method are represented by the syntax _$_ , part 1 on the left and part two on the right. A D major whole note in the sixth octave and three F minor quarter notes in the seventh octave followed by a rest would be written as followed:

c: | /DM/6 $ 3"/Fm/7" (1) |

The more recent multi-bar method allows you to have more than one staff at a time. The above phrase would look like this using the multi-bar method:

c: | /DM/6 |

c: | 3"/Fm/7" (1) |

Adding the part's name is optional, having the syntax "NAME"=_. This goes before everything. The upcoming GeNCS tool will only have support for the multi-bar tool, as it a lot more practical.
