Repetition and Codas

Volta brackets are represented by the syntax 1) or 2) depending on which ending right after the measure bar. A sample phrase would look like this:

c+: | Eb4 |1) Eb4 --2 Bb4 --2 |2) Eb4 --2 (1) Bb4 --1 |

Da capos and Dal segnos are represented by D.C. and D.S. respectively right before the end of the measure. Segnos are represented by the syntax ><. They go right in front of the start of the measure. Codas have a special syntax, they are written as followed:

0: | |

Simile marks are written with the syntax % or /%/, depending on the type. The first says to repeat the measure one, and the second says to repeat it twice. Here's an example:

c: | 8"D45mp. --.5" | /%/ | % |

In this instance, the player plays 8 D4 and D5 notes for 4 measures.
