Notes
Every note is represented with the letter followed by the number of the octave. Multiple notes using the same time duration are listed next to each other without a space.
For example, 2 G Major triads in the fourth and fifth octaves would be written as follows:
G4B4D4G5B5D5
Or, you could use the notation /XYZ/ to group notes. For example, the above scenario could also be written as follows:
/GBD/4/GBD/5
You can also group triads using the proper notation, for example a major triad would be represented by M, a minor by m, an augmented by aug, etc. So the above scenario could also be written as follows:
/GM/4/GM/5
For an even simpler approach, you can combine the two octaves.
/GM/45
You can also use this approach for writing a note in multiple octaves. For example, a G in the fourth, fifth, and sixth octaves would be written as follows:
